We will be releasing the first batch of tickets very soon. In an effort to be fair and distribute the tickets evenly, we are trying a different approach to releasing the tickets this year. As we receive sponsorship for the event, we will be releasing the amount of tickets that relate to the sponsorship received. So when you get a ticket you will know exactly who to thank for your place. We’ll tweet as soon as they are released, so keep an eye on the twitter account.

I’ll also be issuing a plea for help in the next few days, so if you’re interested in helping out, watch this space for things that we need help with.

There are still allocated tickets available for geek girls, BarCamp newbies, members of the BCS or IET and students.

BarCamp Brighton 3 has now totally sold out. If you didn’t manage to get a ticket this time, you can keep an eye on this blog and the twitter feed where we will announce if any tickets become available due to cancellations, and all the news about the next event.

For those of you who did get tickets, we’ll be making lots announcements about the event on the blog here, including info for first-times, so be sure to subscribe. There will also be a backnetwork allowing you to add your profile and more, invitations will be sent out be email over the next few days.

I’ve been in Poland on my hols this week, so missed all the fun, big thanks to Jay, Jon and of course Glenn for sorting out the ticketing and filling in for me whilst I was away. I am also planning on announcing 2 new silver sponsors this week who signed up while I was away, which means there are only 3 slots left so get in quick if you or someone you know might want to be involved. Additionally, for freelancers and smaller local companies, we have the last remaining mini-sponsorships left, apply soon and raise your profile at BarCamp.

Finally Alistair Macdonald, who’s coming down from further afield has started a list of people interested in car sharing over on the wiki, you might want to add yourself if you’ve got some distance to travel to save money and the environment :-)

We’ll be releasing the first tranche of BarCampBrighton3 tickets this Tuesday (July 29th) at 11.00 in the morning. The URL for the tickets is http://barcampbrighton.eventwax.com/brighton-barcamp-3.

There’ll be a second tranche on Tuesday 12th August. We’ve already filled a number of places by inviting Geek Girls, Sussex Uni students and a couple of other groups.

We have put aside some reserved places for first-timers and international attendees who would be travelling overseas to be with us. If you fall into either of these two groups and would like to come along, please email Glenn Jones.

We’ll roll the unused allocations from these groups into the second tranche of tickets on the 12th. The URL for the second tranche will be the same as the first wave.

We’re really excited about BarCampBrighton3; we’re back at the Sussex University Student Union building which proved to be such a good venue last time. So if you think you’d like to come, don’t delay and sign up as soon as you can!

The final ticket allocation went in nine minutes today. We’re sold out. Sorry if you missed out :(

I’m running a waiting list; email me at jay@gooby.org if you’d like to be put on it. There are generally a few last-minute tickets due to double-bookings or forgotten commitments, so it’s worth a punt.

There’ll be 150 of us at this BarCamp; about a third larger than last time. It’s looking like a really great mix of attendees and we can’t wait! We’re hoping for a game or two of Locomatrix, there’s bound to be some werewolf and perhaps Jon Linklater-Johnson will break out his latest creation, semantopoly.

If you’re new to BarCamping then don’t worry. Over the coming weeks we’ll be giving you the lowdown on what to expect, ideas for talks, and suggestions on how you can get the most out of the weekend. There’s definitely something for everyone.
