By train: It’s about a 15 minute walk from the station. Come to Brighton Station, walk out of the station and walk straight ahead, down the hill.
Look for a clocktower, it’s on a junction with lots of traffic lights and a Boots store on the left. Turn left here down North Street.
You’re looking for 30-31 North Street, which is on the right hand side of the road. It’s pretty much opposite the HSBC bank on the left hand side of the road.
Find 30-31? There’ll be someone waiting to greet you and give you your badge. Welcome to BarCamp!
By the way, if you’re working out your return journey, add another five minutes for the walk back as it’s all uphill.
By car: Quite frankly, don’t! Brighton is not good for parking at the weekend, and it’s difficult to find your way around. The nearest free parking is in the Hanover area, starting around Albion Hill and going north. It’s likely to be very busy at the weekend.
incase you missed it http://bit.ly/knMT8 we have a new date 2nd & 3rd October 2010
The entrance to 30-31 North Street has got a big green door, and is next to the Bombay Lounge All you can eat Indian restaurant (which you can smell from the offices if the wind is in the right/wrong direction)
Without wanting to be a total cager, we’re committed to driving now, really: I’m giving a friend a lift, and to get from where I live (Oxfordshire countryside) to Brighton by 10 then I’d actually have to start tonight: there’s no public transport early enough.
For what it’s worth, I’ve got as far as finding the Withdean park&ride (which is maybe three miles away, but there’s a bus), and I’ll give the Albion Hill area a try. If anyone’s got any better suggestions then let me know.
